The new site is called Primordium and can be found here!
Hello all you who regularly skulk by this site (like me). Otter recently contacted me with the idea of either reviving DtP or creating a new site. Well, I don't see reviving it working because it like never seems to work when I try it. However, I do really like the idea of creating a new site together and roleplaying there.
I'd kind of like to roleplay humans, but cats/wolves/anything else cool is also fine. Tell me your ideas! Also, I'll do the skin and such but I don't want to be solely in charge on the new site. If someone else wants to be head admin, tell me. Or we can share an admin account.
Reply here with any and all ideas =D [/s]

Willow--you might want to send out an email to some people so they know something's going down. I can do it, if you want.
I wouldn't want to be head admin, but I'd be totally willing to update threads/check bios/keep the peace/update headers and footers, etc. I think a shared Admin account is a good idea.
Personally I would love to roleplay cats again, either with Warriors or a more original idea, but I would still be willing to play humans/wolves/etc. if that's what everyone else ends up wanting (although I am not good at roleplaying people). If we end up casting a vote, I'll vote for cats ^.^ I mean, I know there are a lot of cat sites out there, but there are so few good ones that have values like this one had. I recall being so shocked and amazed at how great this site was, and it would be great to have that again.
I feel like it would be really neat to roleplay all the Clans beginning for the first time. There's just a little bit of info on that in the Secrets of the Clans book, enough to give us a small outline but not enough to control the roleplaying the way following one of the actual books would. It would be cool to play Thunder, Wind, River, Shadow, and Sky, you know (although, if I remember correctly, Sky was not mentioned in the Secrets of the Clans book). I'm sure it's been tried before, but I've never seen it personally.

Oooh, that would be awesome!! I tried to write something like that a long time ago. You never really learn much about how they formed. Might be fun to roleplay with different Clans too so we're not in the exact same territory. But that would definitely be fun to try out =D
And I'll send out a mass email tonight.

Here's my idea:
Everyone could start off as loners/kittypets. We could have some mini-plots and such for just a little while so relationships can be created and enemies made between cats and all that good stuff.
Then, later, the big battle talked about in The Secrets of the Clans could happen. According to that book, one of the cats that died stops the fighting and shows up and tells them about StarClan and to make Clans or whatever. I can look at the story again if we do choose to do this, so that there's more of a solid plan and whatnot.
After that, it would just be interesting for everyone to play out getting together the Clans and building territory and whatnot.

Taken directly from Secrets of the Clans by Erin Hunter pages 3-6. Some parts were left out, and those parts are indicated by [...]
This could be the first intro:
Many moons ago, the forest was a wilderness, untamed by territories. In the north lay sweeping moorland; in the south was dense woodland. On the edge of the trees, a tumbling river flowed out of a dark ravine.
Cats came into the forest. They were drawn by the soft rustlings of small creatures, shadows under the water, and the sudden commotion of birds' wings in the tree.s. These were not warrior cats. They lived in small groups, not yet Clans. There were no brders set down. And they fought constantly, feaful that prey might run out and that their overlapping territories were being threatened. It was a lawless, bloody time for the fores,t and many cats died.
This could be the climax, roleplayed out but loosely following this outline: One night, when the moon was full, the cats agreed to meet at a clearing in the forest surrounded by four great oak trees. They argued over stolen prey. Claws flashed; challenging yowls rang across the forest. A teririble battle followed, and soon the ground was wet with spilled blood.
Many cats died that night. Exhausted by their wounds, the survivors slept where they had fought. When they woke they were bathed in moonlight. All around them they saw the spirits of their slain kin, no longer torn and bloodied but shining like fallen stars. They huddled on the ground, and, as the spirits spoke, they saw terrible visions of the future. Theys aw the forest drowned in blood, their kits stalked by death at every pawstep. And they knew that the fighting had to end.
"Unite or die" said the spirits.[...]
Then it talks about Shadow (black female), River (silver-gray tom with green eyes), Wind (wiry brown female) and Thunder (largest cat, fiery orange tom with amber eyes/white paws) stepping out and each trying to stake themselves out as leader of all the forest....
A furious yowling broke out under the four great oaks, watched in silence by the spirit-cats. Dark clouds suddenly blew across the moon, and the living cats trembled in fear. On top of a high rock, they saw a tabby cat, one of the fallen, her fur shining though there was no light in the sky. Her eyes flashed angrily at the cats on the ground.
"You are all as foolish as ducks!" she meowed. "Can't you think beyond yourselves for one moment? Think of your kits!"[...]"The forest is big enough to feed all your families and many more," she meowed. "You must find other cats like you, choose a home in the forest, and set down borders."
At that moment, the moon broke free of the clouds, revealing a circle of starlit spirit-cats around the edge of the clearing. A white tom stepped forward. "if you do this," he meowed, "we will visit you in your dreams and guide you on your journeys."
"Once a month," meowed the white tom," at the full moon, you wil gather together here, between the four great oak trees, for a night of truce. You will see us above you in Silverpelt and know we are watching. And if blood is spilled on those nights, you will know we are angry."
"You will be warriors!" yowled the tabby from the high rock.[...]"From now on, you will live by the warrior code. Your hearts will be filled with courage and nobility, and if you must fight, it will be not for greed, but for honor and justice."[...] Then, this next part: One by one, the other cats murmured their agreement. Then they returned to their homes and sought out cats like themselves, with similar strengths and abilities. River found cats willing to fish for their prey. Shadow gathered nighttime hunters with clever minds and sharp claws. Thunder found hunters who could trade prey through the thickest undergrowth. To Wind came the fastest runners and cats who loved the open moors. Then they divided the forest so each Clan had enough prey to survive, and all thecats could live in safety. And when the leaders returned to the four great oaks for the first night of the full-moon truce, their starrya ncestors gave them eight more lives, as they had promised. We would not have to follow the rest of the details. We wouldn't need to follow exactly how the Moonstone was discovered, and we wouldn't have to have the first deputies and medicine cats be exactly as described in the Secrets of the Clans books if we didn't want to.
Also, this book was written before anyone knew about SkyClan, so we could add in a cat named Sky if we wanted to, or leave him/her out. Either way ^.^[/blockquote]

I personally think we should leave out Sky because I'm not sure about SkyClan territory or anything. Different med cats/deputies would definitely be good but keep the leaders and their appearance/brief personality. I have Secrets of the Clans as well so I can reference things from it too. .... And I call Shadow or Wind!! =D

I WANT TO ROLEPLAY AGAIN, GADDOMMIT. LOL. I love the idea for different Clans. That was one of my criteria for joining any Warrior's site, but this place was so awethum that I just HAD to join. :3 My own Warrior's site has kinda... died.... unofficially, but I'll kill it soon and send all the members over to the new site for this one. We came up with a lot of cool ideas for a more advanced stage of life for the cats, with Guardians of Ga'Hoole taking most of the credit. Coals from a near-by forest fire for warmth during leaf-fall and leafbare and also to prevent illnesses and death, and, with the back story being that humans have been gone/not in the area for 20 years, a group of cats and raccoons come to the territories with a collection of books. The cats teach the clans how to read and the raccoons write down the history of the clans for them in return for being fed. Just some future ideas that may help the Clans in the long run. These were never put into practice in my forum, but the staff really liked them once they were explained. In the way of new clans and new ranks, I propose Shaman for Medicine Cat (shorter term. x.x), and perhaps Captain for Deputy, but I'm not sure. If it comes to different beliefs as well, I've had a story in mind that you might find interesting. Instead of stars, perhaps stone. After all, why always look up? These were the grounds their ancestors had walked on, it would make sense that their spirits would want to protect it. It would also taboo the idea of taking more land from the other territories. They'd be taking them for need of prey, perhaps, but their need to keep to their own grounds would cause a dilemma. Just my two sense. :3

OOO: THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
Of course, I'd keep out of the high positions until everything's sorted out; I'm too easily confused to have a high position nowadays.
But I really think something from 'before the clans formation' would be really cool. And we could make our own storyline and posts for how each section of the code was added. O:
Sorry. Not many ideas; you all already said all the good ones. Pfff. xD

It would kind of be like tribal clans? I think that's what im understanding from Taggr. That would definately be unique . However I don't think the making of the clans has ever been done in a roleplay. Would the four leaders be the only cannons? Im not a big fan of cannons anyways.... emmmm ideas..... well wait just a darn second. There would be a sky too wouldn't there? Skyclan was exiled moons after the clans were made. We could rp that out too. Im sorry but im a skyclan fan. hemmm.... and that would cause tension. along with the massive battle. However it doesn't mention Skystar...which there is. Perhaps a warrior leaves his clan to make skyclan and takes cats with him? Or he was an inspired Loner and made his own clan..because he recieved a sign? IF thats the case I kinda wouldn't mind rping Skywhoever.... But of course it is up to the opinion of everyone else.

I like your ideas Taggr (is a big fan of Guardians of Ga'hoole) but maybe not for this site. Willow and I decided to make Primordium about the beginnings of the Clans and it might be too confusing to have very new ideas to tie into that as well.
Blackie--you're right, there should be a Sky. But we do not know what the territories were when SkyClan was in the forest. The books say that once SkyClan left, their territory was divided among the Clans, but it never mentioned exaclty what their territory was. So that would be really confusing...but maybe we could have SkyClan rise later on in the site, once the Clans are established, the way WindClan was raised here.

I think it was mentioned in Firestar's Quest that SkyClan's territory used to be in the tall trees beyond ThunderClan's territory and they had to move once the twolegs were starting to break up the earth there to make the area of nests that Firestar's garden was part of. But like I said, I'd prefer non-cannon Clans so we don't have to follow the story line piece by piece. And five Clans would make for more work on the staff's end of things. Four is a good number and I'd really pull for calling them Tribes if it comes down to a vote. I'm a sucker for that term. :3
