APPEARANCE

Overall: Upon first glance, Mosspaw looks like a sickly young apprentice. He's constantly in the Medicine Cat's den and is prone to sneezing fits. He's slowly getting over this illness, but because it has lingered for so long, it has stunted his growth for the time being. He looks like an overgrown kit who still hasn't filled out his pelt yet.

PERSONALITY
Positive Traits:
- Calm- Even while dealing with important matters, such as a confrontation with another clan cat on a border patrol, Mosspaw hardly ever gets out of sorts or raises his voice. This gets on the nerves of the cats who think a situation is deserving of more than a passing glance, but it usually takes a lot for Mosspaw to lose his cool.
- Loyal- Although Mosspaw would never betray his clan, friends come first for him. He'll never directly attack a friend from another clan in battle. At the same time however, he knows his limits and will never allow himself to fall in love outside the clan. But he is not beyond helping his friends across the border after his duty to his clan has been taken care of.
- Strong Willed- Once Mosspaw has decided on something, he will stick to it until he has been proven completely wrong. He admits defeat humbly, but is defiant until the very end. If he says he'll reach the top of the tree first, he'll try his hardest to do so. If he says a cat is innocent in regards to trespassing, he'll stand by his choice until there is solid proof.
- Understanding- Mosspaw doesn't come out fighting until first met with aggression. He'll be the first to agree to help a clan in need and the last to blame a leader for attacking another clan out of spite. There's a reason for everything. He just wishes every cat would learn that.
Flaws:
- Showoff- If Mosspaw can do something better than someone, he'll let them know it. There'll be a spring in his step and a glint in his eye as he proves he can do something no one else can. As he grows older, this becomes less important to him, but he'll always make sure his rivals know his skills.
- Vengeful- Because Mosspaw is so trusting, he is always at the risk of being betrayed. When and if this ever happens, he will never forget it. He takes it personally and will go to great lengths to hurt the ones that hurt him. He draws the line at killing, though. He knows not to go too far.
- Stargazer- Or cloudwatcher, either way, Mosspaw's green eyes are the first to meet the sky whenever he's lost interest or not given something to do. They can also turn to the earth, however. Beauty is in all things, not just the stars and clouds.
- Prejudiced- Kittypets and Loners who join RiverClan will have a tough time trying to get Mosspaw to accept them. It takes a while for the apprentice to be convinced of a stranger's loyalty to the clan. Usually, it takes something short of a miracle to get Mosspaw to trust them. This isn't to say that he won't put up with them. He can be found around them when it's absolutely necessary.
Fears:
- Dogs- He heard the bark of a dog once. It was close, but he never saw it. From the way the elders put it, dogs are great monsters of legend with piercing red eyes and fangs the size of tree branches. He can't imagine ever meeting one and dreads the day he'll have to fight one off.
- Being An Apprentice Forever- Like he fears never losing his kit-fur, Mosspaw is terrified that he'll never become a warrior because of his illnesses.
Quirks:
- Thinking up games to play with kits and fellow apprentices.
- Chasing his tail when he is completely bored out of his mind or over-excited.
Ideals: Who dares wins. Facing the unknown is harder than facing enemies.
Overall: On a good day, one would view Mosspaw as a friendly, good-natured apprentice with an eye for beauty as well as a game. He's likely to be found playing with the other apprentices or hard at work in the training area trying to learn the latest battle move. He is happiest, however, climbing down the the rocks below the island on a hot day.
HISTORY
Family:
- Mother- Frostpelt
- Father- Darkstorm
- Brother- Rockpaw
- Sister- Shadepaw
- Mentor- Icefeather
History:
Kithood
There was a loud barking in the distance. Getting closer and closer... It was almost on top of them now. There was a great hiss and a yelp that sounded just short of a roar from LionClan. It was the first thing Mosskit ever heard. Once he could speak, he asked Frostpelt what it had been. She told him that the warriors had chased off a great monster called a dog. Darkstorm, his father, he blinded it and chased it off. In his mind, Mosskit promised himself that one day he would be as strong and as fearless as his warrior father.
Being so close to the water wasn't beneficial to the runt of the litter. He could swim, yes, but the cold of the river caused him to shake and sneeze. He spent a good portion of his kithood in the Medicine Cat's den, but it didn't seem to effect him too much. He was still able to join his brothers at their apprentice ceremony. He was assigned Icefeather as his mentor.
Apprenticeship
The day after his apprentice ceremony, Mosspaw heard a dog's roaring bark. He marveled and shook in her fur as the returning patrol reported that the dog hadn't crossed into their territory yet. Passed the border and it was still able to be heard by the cats at camp? His joints rattled. There was a monster out there. How could he face it? He'd never be able to call himself brave if he didn't...
