So, I'm not going to be on here for around a week. Last night, while I was doing homework, I kept getting a popup from Java every time I opened a new tab on my browser. Then something else from HP started popping up. I was worried, so I started a virus scan... and then something completely shut my firewall down.
Somehow in the space of thirty seconds a HUGE Trojan virus infected my laptop and began replicating and replicating, and it quickly invited all of its friends to come and play too. It took three hours and six virus scans to clean everything off because it evolved. We had to isolate my laptop, and it was only by sheer luck or divine intervention that my computer survived at all. Most computers lose their hard drive, motherboard, or both.
As a result, I'm taking precautions, as I cannot afford to have this happen again, and I want to make sure that the virus is completely gone. I will be gone for around a week, just to be sure.

That is CRAZY. I'm so sorry to hear that! It must be scary.
I would, however, love to know how you came up with the title?

It's terrifying. I lost an entire paper that is due tonight, so I'm writing it like crazy.
And my brother just walked by quoting Batman and Robin, so I put it as the title.

Gosh, that really sucks. My computer crashed a year or two ago and took all of my stories and documents with it x.x Not a fun time.

Hey, that just reminded me of something. It was an advertisement. Hundreds of people all over the web are saying they've caught this sneaky Trojan that just grew and grew and infected everything. That is why proboards ad is disabled because people were getting Trojan viruses and things. The ad companies are working on getting rid of it, so we all just have to wait and be very careful about what we do, and where we go. :l I suggest get backup files of everything on a zip drive or store some stuff on a safe storage site just in case.

I've just got one question... What kind of system do you have? Windows XP, Vista? Mac?

I have windows vista. And that's good to know. Seriously.
Mine was from facebook actually. The 'Koobface' virus. When you use one of the Apps on Facebook it punches a GIGANTIC hole in your firewall for a split second, which is all a viruse needs.

Huh... I forgot my facebook a long time ago. Because I hate those kinds of sites. Well, hopefully it's all good now. :3 And windows stuff just plain sucks because you spend all this money of software to prevent viruses, and you hear these people saying that they got a virus anyways, and they have to spend more money to get rid of it.
Well. -all time windows hater huff xD- ... I use Linux, have a FREE firewall, a FREE virus scanner, a FREE anti-virus thing, and all those other free things. I haven't had a virus once. -glareglare- xD sorry. I'm done. :3
Just be careful of ads because they're no safer than facebook.
