While larger than many cats and decently muscled, Charredoak has a lighter and lankier build. His legs are long and somewhat thin, ending in large paws that are all too easy to trip over, though he somehow manages to move quite gracefully. His build allows for average strength and fairly good agility, granted that he doesn’t get tangled in his own legs, though his long stride allows him to be exceptionally swift when running in a perfectly straight line.
His pelt consists mainly of a semi-longhaired deep fox-red, mingled with darker hairs here and there. Extending along his spine from ears to tailtip are darker ticked hairs, making it look as though the fur along his back is almost chocolate in colour. On his forehead he has a typical tabby ‘M,’ but the rest of his markings are too faint to be visible if he has any. His muzzle is a light cream which extends down his throat, and above his eyes he has cream tabby eyespots. His eyes are a vivid yellow-amber, flecked with green, and contain a somewhat mischievous glint.
PERSONALITY
Positive Traits:Flaws:
- Charredoak is a friendly, social cat despite his appearances. He’s good with kits and elders and never minds helping out with either. And the big goof is always up for a game of tag.
- A hopeless optimist, at least on the surface.
- He loves his life as a warrior and cannot think of anything he’d rather be. While it seems cliché, his primary focus up until now was to become what he is today, and he’s living his dream every day.
- His personality is forgiving to the very extreme sense of the word, and though he never forgets a wrong he’ll not hold it against someone for no reason.
Fears: He’s terribly afraid of drowning as he cannot think of a more terrifying way to die, and he has always been terrified by the thought of being incapable of being a warrior – incapacitation, being crippled in battle, or otherwise being forced to live in idleness.
- He’s a very active cat – always on the move and never stopping for a minute’s rest. While this may at first seem to be a positive quality, Charredoak often overextends himself and often ends up in the Medicine Cat’s den suffering from various colds and flus or fatigue as a result.
- His mind sometimes wanders a bit (and sometimes his paws follow) and he finds it difficult to concentrate on a task for extended periods of time.
- He’s a bit lonely, despite his clanmates and friends, as he misses his sister terribly.
- His personality can be a bit overbearing to more stoic or timid cats, being as he doesn’t understand that some cats can be shy. StarClan help his apprentice if he is ever assigned a shy one.
- He’s a bit of a flirt and thinks very highly of his appearance.
Quirks: He often climbs high up in the trees at night in order to see the stars more clearly, probably hoping that he’ll see his sister somewhere amongst them someday. He knows that he’s vain and tends to make jokes about his vanity in order to make up for it.
Ideals: He admires cats who work to aid their clans and has a great respect to elders because of their wisdom, wishing to someday know as much as they do. He hopes someday to have the same sort of respect as the ulder warriors have now .
Overall: On the surface, Charredoak may seem a light-hearted yet dedicated warrior, and as you get to know him you’ll find that that’s exactly what he is. He loves kits and elders, despite having to take care of them as an apprentice, and when he’s not on patrol or hunting, he’ll be playing tag or listening to the elders telling stories side by side with the kits and younger apprentices. His rather sunny personality can be offputting to some cats, however, and he can never understand why the quiet ones simply stare at him with bewildered looks.
Though he works hard to please, he has a tendency to overdo things, exhausting himself in the process and often winding up ill as a result. If there’s a cold passing around the camp, it’s almost a guarantee that he’ll catch it quickly and remain ill for twice as long as he should. He’s also very vain and proud to be so, poking fun at himself for it whenever he feels his ego is getting too inflated.

History:
Kithood
Charredkit was the only son of his parent’s two litters, though he only ever knew two siblings. ///the only surviving kit of the first litter was a newly appointed warrior by the time he was born, and he and Thymekit looked up to Heronwing as though she was a form of royalty. /to have a warrior to play with, after all, was a novelty that any kit would die to have. By the time Charredkit and Thymekit were old enough to venture out of the nursery, Heronwing was Charredkit’s best friend and preferred sibling, and he waited at the nursery’s entrance for her every day to hear about her warrior duties that day. Though Wiltedleaf and Redpool were points of inspiration to their kits, it was hearing about patrols and border skirmishes from his sister that inspired Charredkit to be a warrior.
Apprentice Days
Charredkit and Thymekit became apprentices at the same time, naturally, and their mentors were both well-respected in the Clan. Charredpaw was assigned to Skyfeather, an elderly tom, in an effort to curb his enthusiasm, and he was set to cleaning the elders’ den quite often as a result. Contrary to what the other apprentices thought, however, he didn’t find being around the old cats to be tedious or a chore, and he began to linger in order to listen to what they had to say, and thus he learned much about the cats of the camp and stories about those who had passed to join StarClan.
He was an eager apprentice, catching on to most of his training without much difficulty, and he soon had learned much of what he needed to know about hunting and fighting. His strength was nothing special, and he had yet to learn to walk without tripping, but for the first time in his life he felt that he would be able to accomplish as much as Heronwing had.
…They brought her back from SunningRocks cold and unmoving.
He sat vigil that night numb with shock and his mind buzzed strings of nonsense that he could barely remember come the morning. The next night he left camp and climbed as high as he dared to look up at Silverpelt in the sky, trying to see his sister amongst the stars, but he never could.
Warrior Life
He was made a warrior at twelve moons, the typical time it takes. He sat his vigil next to Thymeheart with pride, and in the eight moons since he has proven a loyal and optimistic warrior to his Clan. On clear nights you’ll still find him outside of camp, however, looking for the face of his sister and bestfriend amongst the stars.
