PERSONALITY
[/i] She's a chatty, friendly she-cat who spends a lot of time with other cats, just talking about whatever crosses her mind. This she-cat is extremely dedicated to her clan and clan mates, but completely closed minded when it comes to other cats outside of ThunderClan. She just doesn't like them. She'll never offer to help, never volunteer to lead a civil patrol – in fact she'd rather be clawing their tails. She's quick to violence, even within her own clan, and finds whipping out claws much easier than speaking.
Positive Traits:
- Courageous
- Good Natured
- Friendly
- Trusting
- Tenacious
- “High on Life”
Flaws:
- Quick To Violence
- Impatient
- Childish
- Closed Minded
- Prideful
- Forceful
Fears:
- Not Being Able To Run
- The River (it's faster than her)
- Dying A Pathetic Death (she wants to go in battle)
Quirks:
- Running. Batflight would run forever if she could. And she doesn't like being bested.
- Batflight speaks in quite the accent, something she learned from her mentor. It has no direct placement – you just gotta hear it.
Ideals:
- Fighting Skills
- Wit
- Loyalty
Overall:
Despite this, she still remains a generally friendly she-cat. However, it is best to avoid her on her bad days – namely, days she can't run. From a young age Batflight has been dashing through the woods, dodging undergrowth and leaping trunks, just to feel the wind against her short fur. It's an addiction, quite literally. Days she doesn't run are days when she's at her worst, and will snap at you, regardless of position or respect. Generally, though, Batflight rises early to race the sun as it climbs over the horizon.
Batflight regards her position in the clan as being 'that'un wit' the kickin' 'tude and sweet skills.' Namely, she's good and she knows it – and she's not afraid to flaunt it. Batflight doesn't mind reminding every she's the best, because she is. Or at least, one of the best. She's extremely prideful, rather arrogant, and definitely boastful. To top it all off, she knows this, and still doesn't bother to change. It's one of those things, you could say. Prideful be as prideful does.[/ul]

HISTORY
[/b]
Family: Nightclaw (mother, deceased) – father unknown – Speckledheart (adoptive mother, unplayed)
History:
Nightclaw never told the clan who the father of her litter was. Some might have believed it was a tom from another clan, but the she-cat was deathly loyal, and never would have betrayed ThunderClan like that. She just decided that if the father wasn't going to take part in her kits' lives, then he wouldn't get the credit for fathering them. After moons of pregnancy, she finally went into labor, only giving birth to one kit. The kit was named Batkit for her dark fur and large ears. Moons past by with no complications, until finally, one cold night, Nightclaw lost her life to a nasty case of Blackcough. Batkit was four moons at the time, and capable of being fed fresh kill. Speckledheart, another queen, took her in, along with Speckledheart's two kits, Dappledkit and Falconkit.
Batkit eventually came to accept Speckledheart as her adoptive mother. She was rather rebellious to the young queen, complaining that she would never fit in with the other two kits because of their age difference and fur difference. Speckledheart was patient with the spunky kit, and in the end, the patience proved worth it. Batkit stopped rebelling in time to become an apprentice, though she never accepted Dappledkit and Falconkit as her adoptive siblings – she hardly even recognizes them as more than friends now.
Apprenticeship
The young apprentice was given a rowdy warrior named Hailstorm to be her mentor. The two of the got along smashingly, Batpaw immediately taking to Hailstorm's jolly nature and unique way of speaking. She accepted him more as a father than she ever would with Speckledheart. In fact, sometimes she likes to pretend that Hailstorm really was her father, just because Nightclaw never told anyone that could say otherwise.
She was made an apprentice just before the Second Battle of Sunningrocks, and didn't participate. But Hailstorm did, and when he returned victorious, Batpaw knew she had been given the perfect mentor. Something about his crooked, cheerful grin and pure joy at winning such a battle sparked something in Batpaw that turned her kithood rebellion into sheer determination to be the best warrior ever.
Batpaw was an outstanding apprentice. She quickly grew into a slim body shape and took to running and fighting – plus an interesting combination of the two. Fighting based on natural speed was a talent she picked up on right away, almost as quickly as speed in general. It was in these first moons as a young apprentice that Batpaw got into her running habit. Hailstorm would always have her chase him through the undergrowth, and it didn't take long for the apprentice to catch the gray tom.
From then on, her training progressed like any other apprentice. She learned to hunt, fight, track, and the warrior code, her eyes set on only one goal. Warriorhood. Hailstorm constantly told her that if she was going to ignore her apprenticeship and focus only on becoming a warrior, then one day she'd look back on her life and regret it. But she never believed him. How could one regret warriorhood? It was the ultimate goal.
Batpaw was present at the gathering before the Battle of the Gorge, and was outraged when RiverClan sprang into attack when ThunderClan was only trying to do good. When she returned, she vowed never to aid another clan again, as they would just turn on her and her clan. To Batpaw, the only goodness in the clans now resided in ThunderClan. And so her mind grew cold and closed to the other clans, while opening up and growing loyal to ThunderClan. She was given her warrior name shortly after that.
Warriorhood
As a young warrior, Batflight continued to grow in skill and in speed. Hailstorm was given a new apprentice, but Batflight still acted like he was her mentor, and followed him and the young cat around. It was during this time that Hailstorm came down with the same Blackcough that took Batflight's mother, and after days of fighting it, finally died. Batflight was stricken with grief and anger, spending days running in the territory and avoiding her clanmates. It was then she decided that she would die in battle, not by disease, and break from what seemed to be her family's inevitable fate.
The young cat, Frostpaw, became Batflight's first apprentice, due to the fact that she knew the light gray she-cat the best. Frostpaw was a snappy, violent apprentice. Much like Batflight had been, but without that generally friendliness and dedication to the code and the clan. It took time, but Batflight broke the apprentice finally, and began to train her as Hailstorm had trained her. Before she knew it, Frostpaw was getting her warrior name.
Times were relatively peaceful then. Sure, there were a few battles. But Batflight was never able to participate in them. She spent her time hunting for her clan and working with apprentices when their mentors were busy – but was never assigned her own apprentice since Frostpaw. It wasn't like she minded, though. Having an apprentice just seemed too much for her after Frostpaw, because no cat could stand up to the gray she-cats obvious potential.
In the most recent battle, Batflight lost Frostpaw, now Frostclaw. The she-cat died of an infection from one of her wounds gained at the Second Battle of Fourtrees. Batflight couldn't help but think that if she had been there, Frostclaw would still be alive. And she also couldn't help but realize that the she-cat had died from battle, more or less, and not from sickness. To her, this was almost like a sign of sorts, saying that she was closer to dying a warrior's death, and not one of a sick cat.[/ul]
