A statement of belief; a confession of faith
These cats originally were fit to wander through the world, confused with their differences from other cats. When they would betray their powers with a sudden rush of emotion, normal cats would either run away in fear or try to use them for their own greed and personal gain. So they ran away to an uncharted, unknown island far from the coast. They origanally got there by working together; cats of wind and water calmed their respective elements, fire cats heated the ocean to suitable temperatures, and the earth cats were magnets for debris such as sticks and logs for the young, sick, and elderly to float on. But once they arrived at the island, their personality differences forced them apart.
The fire cats were volitile and harsh, and quickly brought strife and tension into the ranks. They left the group and became known as FireClan, going to the opposite side of the island where a desert ruled the land. The wind cats felt closed in in the forests, and left the group as well, setting off towards the southern mountains, calling themselves WindClan. The water cats felt most comfortable by the great river the flowed in the east, and always hunted there, slept there, and met there. Eventually, they stopped coming back to the earth cats and chose instead to remain by the river permanently; WaterClan. The earth cats were content to stay where they were, feeling at home and at ease underneath the leafy trees, and so stay they did, and were known as EarthClan.
More and more elementals come to the island everyday, catching word of the mysterious place that welcomes strange ones that have strange powers. The Clans welcome anyone who is strong enough to make the journey through the sea, and so our numbers swell with the passing of each year. But as more and more come, the more tension arises. More cats means more hunting to feed them, and more often than not lately, cats have been crossing the borders that were set to find food. There is war coming, and it will quickly be upon us as winter approaches and prey becomes more scarce.
Someone will have to leave.
