Just wondering what everyone thought of sites that have the rule of "one character to one account". The ones that end up having 40 accounts, with only, like, 10 members.
How do you guys feel about them? Have you ever been on one? In your opinion, are they better or worse than the normal "one account per member" sites? I'm wondering because I'm considering joining a site that has this rule, and I've never roleplayed with one character per account before.

Ugh, I'd hate it! Having to switch accounts just to post with one charrie is a major downfall in my opinion. I don't see how they improve anything- you just have more accounts when, in reality, you don't have that many members. Perhaps if you only had one charrie...but, eh, myself, I prefer having more then one. Espiecally if one is engaged in something and I don't want to do liquid time because that something is incredibly important, or they don't allow liquid time, in which case you're stuck unless you want multiple accounts.

I hate, hate, hate these sites. I joined one once, deleted my accounts, and left within a week. It gets so confusing finding out who's who and who's online and who plays what... a major headache wrapped up all nice and neat is all that these sites tend to be, in my opinion.

Me, I think it's stupid to have one account per character. However, I am on a site that is connected with a comic that the admin/creator draws. She prefers to have her characters linked to separate accounts. Other members try out to play the characters and if they win, they're assigned that character and are required to post on that character's account. This is the only exception that makes sense to me. Having one account per character is nuts and unneeded.

I joined it because it seems to be a pretty decent site, we'll see how it works out. Luckily they have a "you can only have 2 cats unless you buy more" rule, which is nice, so there aren't actually TONS of accounts.

That seems reasonable enough. At least it'll be less likely that a character and account will fall inactive.

I'm on a site with one account per character, Smoke Filled Sky. It works well for that site because there's a lot of things customized per character rather than per member. I actually like it for a site like that and you have a maximum of three characters unless you buy more. However, I think it would totally fail and be pointless on a site like this xD It was actually the original plan to have one account per character but I changed it right before opening the site lol

I'm glad this site isn't like that x.x It'd be a bit annoying, I think. DtP is perfect as it is!
