GENERAL
Name: Ashpaw [Ashtail]
Name Explanation: Ash; grey markings on his fur. Paw; apprentice suffix.
Gender: Tom.
Age: 6 moons.
Clan: RiverClan.
Rank: Apprentice.
APPEARANCE
Body Type: Average size; lean.
Fur: Predominately white.
Eyes: Light green.
Markings: Distinct grey tabby tail. Grey ears, and a single grey spot on his left flank.
Overall: Ashpaw is of average size but built more for running and swimming than fighting, or at least will be once his lean muscles develop. His waterproof coat is predominately white, but with some grey markings that give him his prefix. Most distinct of these is his grey tabby tail. His face is still soft from kitten hood, but has the potential to be angular. His nose is pink and the only trace of color on his body other than his eyes, a light mint green.
PERSONALITY
Positive Traits:
- Devoted → He cares deeply, in his own quiet way, about his kin and his Clan. He will provide for them and stick up for them until the end.
- Optimistic → He is faithful in life and the warriors around him. He believes that they will get over the worst of times without need for miracles or prophecies. He has faith that his Clan can push through the difficulties and defend their lands.
- Watchful → He is far from reckless, instead watching and observing before he will do any actions. This is effective when it comes to learning, where he will pay the utmost attention to his mentor’s instructions before he makes his attempt.
- Patient → He knows that, eventually, he will become a warrior. He feels no need to rush ahead in his training even if he’s excited for it. He knows that everyone has a time and place, and he will get to his when he needs to.
Flaws:
- Dependent → He relies heavily on instruction and others’ opinions before he will make his own decision about what to do. Impromptu actions are not his style. When he is left alone, he’ll likely be shaky and unsure of what to do.
- Pushover → Adding onto his dependence, he is easily manipulated. If someone wants him to do something, he’ll probably do it for them. So, if a reckless apprentice urges him to sneak out of camp with them, he will follow them even if he wouldn’t intend to do so himself.
- Insincere → He will often fake respect or friendliness toward someone that inwardly he hates. This makes him very two-faced, and if the truth comes out, it will most likely end in disaster. Eventually, his insincerity could turn to a complete lack of honesty.
- Offended → He hates being teased or picked on, which is one of the surefire ways that he’ll end up hating someone. While not as desperate as the other apprentices, he really wants to prove himself and knows that he can be great.
- Faithless → In the warrior code and StarClan, that is. He doesn’t believe in the ancestors, perhaps because he’s never dreamed. He sees them as fairytales for young kits, nothing more, though he’ll go on pretending for the others. For the warrior code, he doesn’t think that it matters and that every cat should do what they like.
Fears: The unknown; he doesn’t understand it nor wants to. Crows and other carrion-eating creatures.
Quirks: Never has dreams, or at least can never remember the ones he has. Tucks his tail between his legs as a sure sign of guilt, making him a bad liar.
Ideals: The tangible—warriors and prey, not ancestors in the sky. Cats that know what they want, since he doesn’t.
Overall: Compared to his sister, Ashpaw is extremely quiet and the two appear to be opposites. Everyone automatically assumes that he is a quiet, sweet cat who is patient and thoughtful, not one of the reckless, disobedient apprentices that most warriors dread having. He might not be confident, and others can easily get him to do something for them, but those are his only apparent flaws. However, below the surface, he is a different cat altogether. His faith is for the physical, and he can’t understand the concept of StarClan or the warrior code. He is easily offended and simple teasing can cause him to bear a grudge for a long time. It’s hard to tell if he likes you, because being friendly might be a pretense for his true, hateful feelings. There is definitely more than meets the eye with this cat.
