Ah-HA!!! I KNEW IT! As carefully as they try NOT to come up with the same names, it DOES happen! I KNEW IT!! 'Ashfur' was used in the very first book as a ShadowClan elder! MWAHAHAHAA!!! /spaz
Dunno why it matters. Just a little nugget of random info.

Haha!
I hate when two cats in the same Clan have the same prefix. Mousefur, Mousewhisker. Bah! Get creative you lazy bum queens!!

Well it isn't realistic to think that the same prefix won't ever be used more then once, especially across all the clans and then what else sounds good with Ash? Ashheart isn't too bad if they are the grumpy or sullen sort, but if they are a cheerful cat?All the same though Ashwind or Ashpelt aren't too bad either. I wonder if they even realized they had an elder named Ashfur in the first book...

They probably kind of threw around names in the first books. I mean, it'd be hassle to go back and look in every book to make sure you don't repeat it. Most people wouldn't notice ^.^

This is true, but as an author AND artist, I would be compelled to go back and make sure I didn't reuse names. Although, it's highly doubtful that there wouldn't be double names. There's only so many combinations to use. Besides, it's not like you'd never meet another Brittany or Ashley, Mike or Nick in the real world.

Eh, but you never know. They've got a LOT of books. Maybe they did know they'd used Ashfur before, but figured it was so long ago and the name fit him too well to bother changing him.

Aye, but threatening young warriors doesn't exactly give credit to the other cats who were named 'Ashfur'. Imagine Lionblaze going to StarClan and finding the elder Ashfur and mistaking him for the one who was going to kill him! XD
